Implant did not bond with bone and became loose or fell out. Causes include systemic disease, smoking, or improper placement angle.
Peri-implantitis
Bacterial inflammation around the implant's gum and bone, leading to bone loss. If left untreated, implant removal becomes necessary.
Crown fracture / screw loosening
Crown fracture or connector screw loosening causing chewing dysfunction. May be resolved by bite adjustment or prosthetic replacement.
Placement position / angle error
Implant placed near nerves/vessels, or angle error making prosthetic fabrication difficult. Removal and replanning required.

Implant Revision Procedure
STEP 01
Cause analysis (CT + clinical exam)
Cone beam CT imaging of the current implant state to precisely identify failure causes: peri-implantitis, osseointegration failure, or mechanical fracture.
STEP 02
Treatment direction decision
Based on the cause, an appropriate plan is determined — gum treatment, screw replacement, prosthetic remake, or implant removal — with detailed explanation.
STEP 03
Implant removal (if needed)
Safe removal of failed or misplaced implants, minimizing surrounding bone damage. Bone grafting is performed simultaneously if needed.
STEP 04
Re-implantation and prosthetic completion
After bone grafting and adequate healing, re-implantation proceeds with a corrected plan to reduce the risk of repeat failure.
